Government Colleges In Madhya Pradesh - ‘Bagless school’ Initiative25 Jun 24 - 07:46 Government Colleges in Madhya Pradesh
The Madhya Pradesh Government has launched the ‘Bagless school’ initiative. It has decided to implement bagless school once a week for the students of Grade 1 - 12 beginning with the academic year 2024 - 25. It will be implemented in all government and private schools throughout the state. The reason behind it is to reduce student stress due to the burden of bags. Bagless day means the students can enjoy that day and can play games and explore sports activities, cultural programs, music and more. The students should be engaged in a way that they do not get stressed. School should be about providing joy to the students. A notice has been outlined regarding the weight limits of the student’s bags based on their standard. The maximum weight of the school bags for students in Class 1 and Class 2 is 1.6 - 2.2 kg. The maximum weight for Class 3 to Class 5 is 1.7 - 2.5 kg, for Class 6 and Class 7 is 2 - 3 kg, for Class 8 it is 2.5 - 4 kg and for Class 9 and Class 10 is 2.5 - 4.5 kg. The weight of the school bags for Class 11 and Class 12 will be decided by the school management committee according to the stream of the students.
